Dante, the man, the author, the legend!
Dante Alighierie was a born in the late 13th century to middle class parents. He was educated, meaning that he was able to read and write in both Italian and the court languae of Latin, and as such was regualry dispatched to foreign governments to act as en emmissarry on behalf of Florence. He his faith in the both the Catholic church and the political government of Florence were severely tested, and his Divine Comedy: Hell was a recation against both the public officials, and the church, and what Dante viewed as their corruption.
